JOIN US for a STATE HERITAGE SITE TOUR

- Led by Hope Lovelock Deane, the site custodian:

Rewild the world…

  • Harvest Studio and The Pioneer Chapel 1844 (the first church built in McLaren Vale) including Custodian and Founder, Botanical Artist Hope Lovelock Deane’s professional and family background (8 generations of connection with this site)

  • The Botanical Cemetery, McLaren Vale (formerly The Congregational Cemetery 1841, the first public cemetery in McLaren Vale township) - a short overview including a story or two about some of the town settlers buried here

  • The Culture Garden community garden and placemaking project (est. 2022) - our ecological and cultural regeneration project (including a collaborative Aboriginal research project)

$150 (min.) per group (or $15 per head for groups of more than 10), includes a site gift  - Allow 60-90 minutes

*Add a morning or afternoon Cornish Tea garden experience (in honour of the town settlers and our family heritage) $25 pp

*Add a glass of wine from our neighbouring church and Sabella cellar door (built 17 years after our Pioneer Chapel) $15 pp

*Add a picnic lunch in the cemetery garden (or park next door), with local and seasonal good food $35 pp

*COMING SOON - Add a Cemetery Audio Tour - listen to the infamous and intriguing town settlers tell their stories of McLaren Vale $10 per adult / U18 free (can be used day or night and outside of our studio hrs, if booked ahead) - Allow 1 hr
Audio tour is valid for 48hrs from payment. Tour can be purchased from the studio (during opening hours) or online (soon)

*Add a Harvest Studio Workshop and make a day of it - with over 30 years of visual art and events experience, talk to us about making a creative and nature-focused activity to suit your group (in the Chapel or cemetery garden) - prices and duration vary

Meals and Drinks in the cemetery garden and Chapel can be included in any offerings
